Terms
What the membership costs, how it is paid, what happens when it lapses, and what After Dark does and does not do with a member's money.
These are the terms of the membership. What a shop may sell is on seller rules, and what data is held is on privacy. United States law applies on top of all three.
The deal
- A membership costs $9.99 for each month it runs. It gives a member one page at their own address and, if they switch it on, a shop on that same page.
- A member signs in with X and nothing else. There is no password to set and none to lose.
- A member's address comes from their X handle. A handful of names the platform itself answers on cannot be taken, so a signup that would collide with one is given the next free variant instead.
Account credits
- Membership is prepaid. A member funds a balance of account credits, held in US dollars, and After Dark spends from it.
- Credits are bought by sending SOL. The dollar amount is quoted at the spot price when the quote is made, the quote holds for ten minutes, and the credit lands only once the transfer is final on chain.
- Two things spend credits: the $9.99 monthly renewal, and a $10.00 re-read of a member's own X account when they ask for one.
- Credits are not refundable and never convert back to crypto. They buy things here and nothing else. They are not a wallet, not a stored-value instrument, and cannot be sent to another member.
- After Dark may add credits to a member's balance. Those cannot be taken back either.
When the balance runs out
- At renewal, After Dark debits $9.99. If the balance does not cover it, the membership goes past due and the member's page, shop, and custom page stop answering.
- Nothing is destroyed when that happens. Funding the balance turns the page back on, and the handle stays the member's while the account exists.
- The page going dark is the only notice a lapse gets. After Dark does not promise a warning before it.
Sales money is never ours
- A buyer pays in native USDC on Solana. The payment splits in the transaction itself: the member's share goes to the member's own self-custody wallet, and After Dark's fee goes to After Dark. There is no moment when After Dark holds the member's money.
- The fee is a percentage of the sale, snapshotted onto each order before the buyer pays, and shown on the payments screen.
- After Dark holds no key to a member's wallet and cannot move, freeze, or claw back anything in it. Withdrawing is the member's own wallet signing.
- After Dark does not process refunds. It cannot sign a transfer out of a member's wallet. A member who wants to refund a buyer sends that transfer themselves, and that act does not change the order.
Leaving
- A member may close their account. Closing stops renewals and takes the page offline.
- Closing does not destroy the member's orders, recycle their handle, or take unspent credits.
- A member can export their data without closing anything.
What gets taken down
- Every member site carries a report link. A report puts the site in a queue an operator reads.
- After Dark can take down a page, a listing, or an account that breaks these terms or the seller rules.
- There is no appeal process, no reply promised, and no timeline. Stating one here would invent a process that does not exist.
United States only
- After Dark is open to members based in the United States.
- Member sites and the admin are served in the United States only. A visitor from another country is turned away with a short page saying so.
Changes
- These terms can change. The version on this page is the one that applies, and After Dark does not promise to notify anyone before it changes.
- A member who does not want the new terms can close their account, which keeps their orders and their unspent credits.
